i thought

that art was my life and soul too and couldn't imagine my life without it, then later on it turned out that I was an uninspired piece of shit and basically dropped it

just saying so you don't rule it out happening to you

a note is that if I ever saw somebody wearing a shirt like that I would definitely punch them in the torso hard enough to snap ribs

this is the part where I talk about the drawing itself but it isn't really remarkable enough to extract any decent comments about, or even non-decent ones so

and they all lived happily ever after

thank you... i think?

pretty nice, but

if you just look at the head without the size and shape of the body in context, she looks more like she's in her mid-20s; it's as if you tried to draw the face with an 'intelligent' expression but just ended up accidentally drawing a literally more mature face instead.

Maybe it's just me, I don't know, regardless I quite like this overall and I can tell you've put a lot of effort into keeping all the strokes nice and clean, and keeping every line where it should be.

I don't

understand why this game inspires people creatively so much, but it seems to connect powerfully with a certain mindset [internet morons] but then again arbitrary foodstuffs, vintage dress, racism, video game enemies, facial expressions, breasts, idiotic fads and goofy acronyms also connect powerfully with that mindset too so there isn't much left not to be interested in

the art is pretty serviceable, I'm guessing it's more like a sketch that got out of hand than an actual artistic undertaking so it's generally well done with a few rough edges

well

You could be a pretty badass artist if you punched yourself in the face a few times and dropped this mediocre over-simplified body design forever; it's just flat and completely unappealing.

jesus

People really need to give it a rest with this top hat/monocle thing, it's clichéd and horrendously annoying. Get inspired instead of rehashing the same old tired jokes.

insanityxiii responds:

could you next time give me a bad review because of the quality of the work, because i actually own a tie, vest, top hat, and plan to purchase a monocle.

she looks as if

she's doing aerobic stretches, I could never get my right ankle and knee to do that at the same time, especially not in high-cut boots which effectively completely prevent significant ankle movement. The actual technical skill that went into the drawing is very good though, and the line quality is very refined. If there were any more gripes I would care to make, it would probably only be that the collarbone seems far too low compared to the traps and general shoulder mass, and that the bra-cum-armbands solution is ridiculously impractical unless the material is hyper-elastic (you'd end up with terrible arm mobility otherwise).

the problem I have with this is

That there isn't really any definition to the body at all, it looks as if you spent all your time on making the head look really good and then you just drew a jumbled pile of metal all around it in the vague shape of a torso.

Nekow responds:

exactly

blagh

the actual shirt design has turned out pretty fine but the line quality on the raw image is horrendous, it looks like the worst (40-55 ish) smoothing level you could possibly have chosen

also, if you're going to draw folds and wrinkles in skin, you should always make sure the creases actually affect the overall pattern of the skin somewhere and aren't just lines and streaks shat all across the image - you've used a mixture of both here but the overall effect is mediocre

I guess I should eek a compliment in here somewhere so yes overall it is a pretty neat design

Captain responds:

i really don't see a problem with the line quality, I wanted it to be kind of rough so I left it kind of rough. I wouldn't call it horrendous by any measure.

I also didn't just vomit lines all over the character, I put folds where I wanted to be folds. Looking at it now I only see one spot where I think it needs retouched, overall everything else makes sense to me.

Only real issue I'm spotting after a nights rest is that the color bleeds out in a bunch of places, that I need to fix.

I have

quite a few problems with the overall design of this art, but don't feel bad because I have quite a few problems with virtually everything

First of all, I don't understand why there are tubes coming out of the gas mask, the whole point is that you breathe the scrubbed air drawn into the filter

Secondly the overly skimpy attire is annoying, I know artists on the whole enjoy drawing sexy vixenish girls but bare flesh is surprisingly enough not great for absorbing ionizing radiation! (and to be honest just the cold and wet is more than enough to kill anyone in a tank top)

lastly, I don't much like the positioning of the guns and the pose because it looks too 'carefree' and floaty - on the whole most loaded assault rifles weigh in the region of 10 lbs each and you can't wave one around like a feather duster

I guess that's all the significant gripes I have but overall it's a pretty nice job, if I was to say anything else it would be to advance away from shading in just barred lines, fine crosshatching for instance would probably suit your style well

it's strange

Every single detail in this poster seems to be slightly 'wrong' or 'off', it's technically not that badly drawn but none of it seems to quite fit in with the original left4dead atmosphere

makes it very difficult to actually look at for more than 3.26 seconds
